The idea of the Blog is to support a small Charity and this season we have chosen "Nottingham Stroke Club". A small charity that relies on fundraising with no paid workers. It offers support to Stroke victims and hold day meetings every Thursday to include a Quiz, lunch, chair exercises and also day trips and holidays. We are to sponsor 25p for each goal we see scored during the 2019-2020 season at matches we attend. Any clubs that would like to pledge or friends/fans please contact me

CAVS BEAT TOUGH GREENS

Pre Season Friendly
FC CAVALIERS 3 NIGERIA COMMUNITY FC 0
Played at Forest Recreation Ground
As I was on the bus for the noon kick off at Forest Recreaton Ground, I saw on Facebook that FC Cavaliers were to play Sudan Community FC at 2pm, so great idea to stay for the double header, but on arrival found that the opponents had pulled out and been replaced by a Nigeria Community FC, so wasnt sure what to expect, but what I saw wasnt what I expected.

The match kicked off slightly delayed as the changing rooms were still being used by the teams of the previous match and those in charge of the facilities thought it was a league match kicking off at 3pm, so the referee got the match on the way at 2.39pm.

The Greens of Nigeria produced a series of good chances through their main forward the number 9 who was causing a few problems, but their tactics were quite simple, if it moves, kick it, even if that means the man.

On 21 minutes, after another clattering of a FC Cavs player which resulted in him being helped off the pitch, the smiling referee awarded a free kick which resulted with the ball in the back of the net.

On 23 minutes, a horrific late challenge left another Cavs player on the floor and this time, the Cavs manager kindly asked the ref for some protection to his players or he would have to call off this so called not so friendly match.

Cavs kept their heads and pushed forward and if not for the Nigerian keeper could well have gone in at half at least six goals in front, it really was one way traffic and the only way the Greens could stop a attack was to foul and stop play.

The Second Half saw the Nigerian team have their best spell of the game and could actually play some good passing football but they found the Cavs keeper in fine form, so reverted back to their kick anything in sight attitude tactics.

The ref asked for a couple of players to be replaced due to their actions and they didnt like it at all and on 82 minutes, the Nigerian team had given up hope and Cavs added to their lead to make it 2-0.

The next thing, a couple of the greens changed their tactics again by this time trying to fight and push the Cavs players, to all credit the Cavs players walked away and kept their heads and from another free kick saw a nice CAVS move ending in the back of the net on 88 minutes to make it 3-0.
