The idea of the Blog is to support a small Charity and this season we have chosen "Nottingham Stroke Club". A small charity that relies on fundraising with no paid workers. It offers support to Stroke victims and hold day meetings every Thursday to include a Quiz, lunch, chair exercises and also day trips and holidays. We are to sponsor 25p for each goal we see scored during the 2019-2020 season at matches we attend. Any clubs that would like to pledge or friends/fans please contact me

BRICKWORKS HIT TEN

Pre Season Friendly
KIRTON BRICKWORKS 10 AFC CRESWELL 0

Well with so many pre season matches being altered and Kirton Brickworks annoucing their new manager in Matt Wade, I felt it was a time to visit this lovely club, they were supposed to be playing Desford FC, but a late change saw AFC Creswell step in at the final minute to fulfil the fixture.

Before the match, I got a cuppa from Kirton committee man Steve and then had a chat with club Chairman Tony and then todays Referee Gareth Tye.

The game kicked off and Creswell looked quite good and had a good formation as they pressed forward, but lost their shape in the 9th minute when CRAIG PAYNE cut in from the left hand side to fire the Brickies in front.

On 19 minutes, it became 2-0 when a free kick from 25 yards struck the back of the net, from this point on it was a matter of missed chances and excellent keeping to keep the score down to 5-0 at half time.

Kirton at half time changed 8 of their players and whilst having a cuppa, Kirton Chair man Tony March kindly donation £10 to the Charity Blog on behalf of his club, just after half time, old friend Alan Witton of Walesby kindly donation £10, so a big Thankyou to you both for the kind donations.

In to the second Half and we didnt have to wait long before goal 6 went in on 49 minutes, the poor AFC keeper was throwing himself all over to keep the score down and to be fair pulled off some stunning saves but in the end it ended up 10-0 to the Brickies. With 4 goals coming from JAMIE CHARLTON, hat tricks from CRAIG PAYNE and KYLE CLARKSON.

I feel Kirton will be a force in Division One and though winning 10-0 today, you can only beat what is put in front of you and Cresswell must be respected for taking the match at the last minute to come across a good side in form.

Must thank Matt Wade for a lift home

With the donations today and the 10 goals scored, it takes the running total for the Nottingham Stroke Club up to a amazing £345.75p.
